Vacation Bible School is fun! So, why should it just be for kids?!
“Confirmation: This is Most Certainly True”
Saturday, February 25 1-5 p.m.
By popular request! Experience the joy of Luther’s Small Catechism! The Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, The Ten Commandments, Sacraments, and more! Games, snacks, and crafts…who knew confirmation could be this much fun?!
History:
Our first Grown-up VBS was in August 2010, with the focus on Jonah. Bible study, a prayer song, games, craft, and a lunch of Bible foods combined to make a day of learning and fun!
It was so enjoyable, we did it again in November 2010, with a focus on Ruth. The story begins and ends in Bethlehem, (House of Bread in Hebrew), so crafts and games centered on bread/wheat.
February 2011: Samson, a manly man...but was he a Godly man? We explored his love of riddles, his taste of honey, his weakness for women...and the love that conquers all.
May 2011: Judith and the Apocrypha...The book of Judith, a thrilling story of a woman saving a nation, is part of the Apochrypha, which comes from the Greek word meaning "those having been hidden away". The general term is usually applied to the books that the Protestant Christian Church considered useful but not divinely inspired.
August, 2011: The Spirit of the Law No bacon cheeseburgers, no steps up to the altar (you might be tempted to look up the skirts of the person ahead of you!), no polyester, no winking, no daydreams to eliminate your crummy boss…no, no, no! Why does God care about so much about every part of our lives? Why do laws matter? Do they still matter? “The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of silver and gold pieces” ~Psalm 119.72
November 2011: Psalms of Thanksgiving
