...A welcoming place

Village to Village
Daniel Mutunga, a graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary and professor at Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, encountered Mary Mukii Ngumbi, who had begun her studies at Daystar, but had to leave due to financial constraints. Daniel brought her story to our attention, and asked if we might help her by supporting her, that she might complete her studies in community development.
RLC and Shepherd of the Valley have contributed tuition funds to aid her in achieving her goals.

Mary emailed in September 2010: Hi Sue, I hope you are fine and well kept of the Lord. Iam well too,the grace of our good God has kept me safe and going.I have began my August semester. This is our third week,I am finding the courses interesting and enjoyable. How are the brethren? Please pass my warm greetings and love  to them, The Lord continue to bless you.

Mary emailed in May2010:
I am so grateful for your support. I truly thank God for you. You are an answered prayer to me. May God increase you abundantly.
I began my semester in January and my studies have been smooth and enjoyable because of your support.I am doing end semester exams right now to finish on 13th May. I had felt that my dream to serve the the church and the community had been shattered because i thought I  will never complete my studies in community development.
I am glad to God for using you to rekindle my star again . I am sure that the church and the community will benefit from this noble course that you have accepted to see me through my studies.
I once again thank you and thank God for you. greet the church for me.
I will keep in touch
SISTER MARY

More Village to Village
RLC also seeks to add relationship and a hands-on element to the kinds of mission Resurrection Lutheran Church has been doing through the water and mosquito net projects.

Through Daniel Mutunga, RLC is learning about Kithiani, Kenya. This village of about 500 people has experienced drought the past three years, and the limited water sources available to the village are used (and fouled) by livestock.
