A task force was created at the January Semi-Annual Congregational meeting to begin the research that may lead RLC into a partnered relationship with the people of Kithiani.
Task force members are Pastor Sue Bahleda, Kris Ritter, Doug Harris, Jim Hutchison, Sherri Dressel, and Bill Bahleda.
The task force misson/visioning statement is:
It is the mission of our committee to explore establishing a connection with citizens of Kithiani, Kenya to partner with them in developing a water system for their village. We are tasked to research how our congregation can best serve—financially, physically and spiritually—in creating a strong relationship with the villagers to accomplish this project and possible future projects. It is our hope that a lasting bond of friendship between our RLC family and the community of Kithiani will bring continuing opportunities for us to be our Lord’s servants in Kenya.
Their next meeting is March 29, 2009 following worship.
